The Nakiri is an absolute workhorse when heavy preparatory work needs to be done. Often referred to as a Japanese vegetable knife, the Nakiri is the perfect blend of the versatility of a chef's knife and the blunt shape of a splitter. The square shape and straight edge make it ideal for chopping firm vegetables when the rocking motion of a chef's knife isn't enough. Use it to quickly work through sweet potatoes, pumpkin or large zucchini. The deep, flat blade refines shredding and chiffoning lettuce, cabbage and other leafy vegetables with ease.
